GRADING
All gradings given for items in this store are visual only as the volume of stock that is held would make playing them a full time job.
On occasion with more collectable items I may play a few tracks to get a better idea of the impact of scratches etc. Bear in mind that the grading will be subjective and will also be dependent upon the equipment used. I will try to grade according to Goldmine standards although I will probably be a little conservative to ensure customer satisfaction.
Please be mindful of the fact that occasionly a record can appear in very good condition but may have been played with a worn needle and may have groove wear that cannot be seen.
NM = near mint.
The record shows no obvious signs of wear.Sleeves and covers may have the most minor defects.
VG+ = very good plus.
The record will show some signs of having been played although it has been well cared for. The record may have light scuffs or scratches that don't affect play. May have slight warp. Covers and sleeves may show light ring wear and edge wear or small seam splits.
VG = very good. As above but defects will be more pronounced. Surface noise will be evident on playback and may have scratches that can be felt.Covers, sleeves and labels may have writing, sticky tape or tears. These records will still play well and the defects will not overpower the music.
VG- = very good minus
As above but with more pronounced defects. Will have slightly more surface noise but will be still acceptable and playable.
G and G+ = good/good plus. Record will play through but with significant noise and scratches. It will not jump and will show many signs of usage. Covers and/or sleeves may have a lot of defects such as seam splits, writing, tears and heavy ring wear that will overwhelm the item.
P = poor.
The only time you would buy something in this condition is if it was impossible to find or the ownership of the label or sleeve was of greater importance than the ability to play it.
I also use some abbreviations along with the gradings to identify certain faults :
toc = tear on cover (most likely from removal of stickers etc)
soc = sticker on cover
woc/wol = writing on cover or label.
If you have any concerns about the condition of any item you are interested in purchasing, I will gladly supply more info via email.
RETURNS
As most of the items listed are the only copies I have in stock I cannot offer replacement. If however an item is drastically different in quality from the description ie, jumps or will not play through I will gladly refund the cost upon receipt of the item. However I ask that the buyer pays postage on the return of the item. On receipt of a return I will assertain it's condition and make a judgement. As with all secondhand hand and used goods the buyer should ask all relevant questions before buying an item.
